The National Testing Agency (NTA) will oversee the JEE Main 2026. They create the question papers, conduct the test in various cities, and release results along with percentile and rank.

There are around 10 slots in both months.

There will be two attempts for JEE Main 2026. The best percentile will be counted for each student, allowing students to improve their result if the first attempt did not go well.

Yes, there is negative marking in JEE Main 2026. For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted, while each correct answer carries 4 marks. A total of 75 questions can be attempted, with maximum marks of 300.

No, it is the choice of the candidate. A candidate need not appear in both sessions. However, if a candidate appears in more than one session, their best of the JEE Main 2026 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of the Merit List/Ranking.

No, the date/shift/slot of the examination is allotted randomly by the computer. The candidate cannot select the date or slot themselves.

Candidates are required to bring the following:

  1. Admit Card along with passport-size photograph affixed on it.
  2. One passport-size photograph (to be affixed on the attendance sheet on the day of the Examination).

Candidates are advised not to bring any other items to the examination centers, as there will be no arrangement for the safekeeping of any material.

Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or those who are appearing in the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2026, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2026.
